Why is it important to visit the dentist?

/p>

Visiting the dentist regularly will not only help keep your teeth and mouth healthy, but will also help keep the rest of your body healthy.

Regular dental care is important because it:

  • Helps prevent tooth decay
  • Protects against periodontal (gum) disease, which can lead to tooth and bone loss
  • Prevents bad breath – brushing, flossing, and seeing the dentist regularly reduces the bacteria in your mouth that causes bad breath
  • Gives you a more attractive smile and increases your self-confidence
  • Helps keep teeth looking bright by preventing them from becoming stained by food, drinks, and tobacco
  • Strengthens your teeth so that you can enjoy healthy, beautiful smiles for the rest of your life!

How often should I see the dentist?

/p>

Children, teens, and adults should all see the dentist for a regular checkup at least once every six to nine months. Patients who are at a greater risk for oral cancer or gum disease may be required to see the dentist more than just twice a year. We will help determine how often you should visit the dentist for regular checkups based on your individual oral health care needs and goals.

What if I haven't been to see a dentist in a long time?

/p>

We know not everyone likes the thought of going to the dentist. We’re hoping to change that! If you haven’t been to the dentist in a long time or you are not happy with the appearance of your smile, we will understand and we will help you get on the right track to your optimal oral health. Beachstone Dental will never make you feel bad about your current dental hygiene routine, and Dr. Prasad will work with you in a positive manner to improve your overall health with your goals in mind. We also understand most people cannot afford a complete oral reconstruction and will work with you to get you the care you need in a time frame you can afford.

What can I do if I have dental axiety?

/p>

Visiting the dentist regularly will not only help keep your teeth and mouth healthy but will also help keep the rest of your body healthy.

We recommend you arrive 10-15 minutes early for your first visit with us so that you have plenty of time to complete your New Patient Forms. Filling out these forms helps us get to know you and your oral healthcare needs better and achieve your dream smile! Arriving prepared will help alleviate some of the stress you may feel when visiting the dental office.

At what age should I start taking my child to see the dentist?

Children need dental care as soon as their baby teeth begin to erupt. The Canadian Dental Association recommends that children visit the dentist within 6 months of the eruption of the first tooth, or by the time they are a year old.

Prevention and treatment at this early age will give your child a head start when it comes to life-long oral health.

Do I need dental x-rays?

We will need current x-rays in order to see disease not otherwise visible. If your referring dentist has taken x-rays recently, you may request that they be forwarded to our office prior to your scheduled visit.

Cost of Dental Care Services in Leamington

What is the cost of dental treatment?

/p>

You play an important role in your dental care, and we believe all treatment and dental care decisions should be a collaboration between you and your dental care provider. We want to help you receive the dental care you deserve. Your smile is as important to us as it is to you. At Beachstone Dental, you will never have surprises when it comes to your bill and the choice to proceed with treatment is always yours.

The fees for dental treatment and services at our office are generally based on the Ontario Dental Association Fee Guide. In general, dental treatment costs will vary based on the treatment you need and are recommended to you after an examination and consultation with your dentist. This is because each patient is unique and requires treatment based on their particular oral healthcare needs and goals. Therefore, your dentist will review your medical and dental history, take x-rays, and complete a comprehensive oral examination (or a limited oral examination if you want only a specific dental concern/issue to be examined) before establishing your treatment planning and the fee for care. Before we start any treatment, your dentist will share his findings with you and explain the recommended treatment, the costs involved, and payment options.

For more information regarding the cost of dental services as well as our financial policy, dental insurance, and billing, please read Financial Options or call our office at (519) 398-0826.

How do I pay for my dental treatment?

/p>

Beachstone Dental is a fee for service office, generally follows the Ontario Dental Association Fee Guide, and full payment is due at the time of service.

You play an important role in your dental care, and we believe all treatment and dental care decisions should be a collaboration between you and your dental care provider.

Dental treatment costs will vary based on the treatment you need and is recommended after your examination and consultation with your dentist. You will be provided with treatment options and a written estimate for all recommended dental treatment. Before we start any treatment, your dentist will discuss the recommended treatment, the costs involved, and payment options with you. If you choose to proceed with treatment, you will be responsible for the full payment on the day service is rendered, unless prior arrangements have been made with our office. You will never have surprises when it comes to your bill and the choice to proceed with treatment is always yours.

If you have dental insurance – Beachstone Dental is a non-assignment office, as recommended by the Ontario Dental Association. This means that, full payment is due at the time of service, regardless of any dental benefits you may or may not have. If you have dental benefits, we will be happy to assist you in obtaining benefit information prior to treatment and will gladly submit your dental claims electronically to your benefit’s carrier at the time of service as a courtesy to you. You will be directly reimbursed by your insurance company and you will remain in control and fully aware of your treatment costs and dental benefits at all times.

Please remember that as a patient, it is your responsibility to pay the fees for your dental procedures. Payment for services is due at the time services are rendered unless prior arrangements have been made. Please bring your payment information with you to your dental appointment. We offer flexible payment options, and we accept cash and most major debit and credit cards.

For more information regarding our financial policy and dental insurance and billing, please read Dental Treatment – Financial Options or call our office at (519) 398-0826.

Do you take my dental insurance?

/p>

Yes, we most likely do! Beachstone Dental works with most dental insurances and policies.

Beachstone Dental is a non-assignment office, as recommended by the Ontario Dental Association. This means that full payment is due on the same day service is rendered, regardless of any insurance coverage you may or may not have. We accept cash and most major debit and credit cards.

Our role as a dental provider is to make a treatment plan based on your oral healthcare needs and provide quality care. Your individual needs may differ from what is covered by your dental plan. We believe it is your right to choose the treatment option that is right for you and decide whether to proceed with treatment. Your treatment plan should not be dictated by what is covered by your dental plan. If you agree to have treatment, it is your responsibility to pay for the service and it is the responsibility of the benefit’s carrier to reimburse you for the amount covered by your dental plan.

If you do have insurance coverage and dental benefits, we understand it is important for you to know how your dental plan is designed, including its limitations and deductibles so that you can be prepared to pay on the day services are rendered. Please bring all relevant personal, medical, and dental benefit information and cards to your examination appointment. We will be happy to assist you in obtaining your benefit information and determine if a treatment is covered under your plan.

Our office will provide you with a written estimate for all recommended dental treatment. Upon request, we will be happy to submit a claim to predetermine your insurance benefits; however, this may not be required by most plans. We will also gladly submit your dental claims electronically to your insurance company at the time of service as a courtesy to you. Reimbursement from your insurance company will be sent directly to you, and you will remain in control and fully aware of your treatment costs and dental benefits at all times.

We want to help you receive the dental care you deserve. Your smile is as important to us as it is to you. For more information, please read Financial Options or call our office at (519) 398-0826.

Do you offer pre-treatment estimates?

/p>

Of course! When our doctor recommends any treatments or procedures, we will always discuss the estimated costs involved and payment options. We want you to remain in control and fully aware of your treatment costs and dental benefits at all times.

If you have insurance and request it, we can take all the information needed and either electronically submit it or mail it to your insurance company for a pre-determination. Some insurance companies will immediately let our office know the patient portion immediately for fillings and smaller procedures. There are times we may need to send further information or wait for the patient to hear back from their insurance company through an email, a letter, or an update or posting on their insurance portal online.

You will never have surprises when it comes to your bill and the choice to proceed with any recommended treatment is always yours.

Do you accept ODSP or HSO patients?

/p>

Yes, we do! Beachstone Dental believes everyone should have happy, healthy smiles and access to quality dental care.

Our dental office is happy to accept new patients on the following government-sponsored dental insurance programs: Healthy Smiles Ontario (HSO) and Ontario Disability Support Program (ODSP).

Please let us know in advance if you have HSO or ODSP insurance when making your appointment, and bring all personal ID, medical and dental information, and your dental insurance information to your first visit with us.

If you are looking for a dentist that accepts HSO or ODSP patients, we can help! Please get in touch with us if you would like to make an appointment!
